So, my girlfriend & I have decided to detox for the whole of March. We each have our own addictions & unhealthy habbits that need handling, so we're reducing or eradicating a list of things for the whole of March. Our lists are slightly different, but here's mine:

  1. No nicotine; that means no e-cigs, tokes or buds, nothing with nicotine at all.
  2. No junk food, except on Friday; that means no KFC, Mc Donald's, Burger King, Domino's, etcetera. Instead, we go to Subway, restaurants, cafés & healthier food stalls. On Friday we can have one junk food meal.
  3. No more than 2 cans of coke a week; this will be a tricky one. Instead, we drink water.
  4. Reduction of caffeine intake in all it's forms; instead, we drink green tea (which I was already doing anyway).
  5. Exercise; we've been slacking at the GYM, so we're going back to about 2 days per week, plus I'm going back to goalkeeping duties on a Five-A-Side football team. She & I are also going 6.3 mile jogging around our neighbourhood soon, early in the morning.
  6. Sensible sleeping; this means aiming to sleep at 2200 & waking up between 0600 & 0700.
  7. Eating a healthy breakfast; seriously, we skip on this so much. It's cereal, meat, toast, protein shakes & fruite for the whole of March.

This is probably for the best. Because we work together between 5 & 7 days a week, we can always help the other with progression. It's helpful when you have two people making lifestyle changes. I used to smoke so much & consume lots of caffine, sugar, processed food & pastry fats at the office, but now it's going to change. Our GYM happens to be close to the office too, which is useful.

What do you think of this plan?


1st to 31st of March detox

*Fridays are excempt from bullet points 2, 3, & 4.

Day 1 - Fine, no cravings.

Day 2 - People are annoying.

Day 3 - Very irritable. Nearly cussed people out.

Day 4 - I actually wanted to deck somebody.

Day 5 - No specific cravings, but I was properly shaking in discomfort & stress.

*Day 6 - Great day, no upsets what-so-ever.

McDonald's breakfast, Italian restaurant, Diector's Lounge (special screening room at a luxury cinema).

Day 7 - I forgot, probably nothing bad.

Day 8 - I forgot, probably nothing bad.

Day 9 - I forgot, probably nothing bad.

Day 10 - I forgot, probably nothing bad.

Day 11 - I forgot, probably nothing bad.

Day 12 - Virtually no cravings at all. Things angered me today, but I didn't want to smoke.

*Day 13 - Resisted the urge to smoke at a pub, on my mate's birthday.

McDonald's Breakfast, Popcorn Chicken, Big Mac, lots of alcohol.

Day 14 - No cravings.

We went to an Italian restaurant & then the Director's Lounge again.

Day 15 to 28 - Nothing interesting to report on.
